Director of Endoscopy Training, Professor in Gastroenterology and Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist. Chairman, Joint Advisory Group on Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (JAG) and member of various clinical committees in the UK.
Extensive experience in endoscopy and laser palliation. The first UK Gastroenterologist to perform laser palliation treatment of inoperable rectal tumours and polyps.
Established Gastroenterology MIT in October 1995 and achieved JAG approved full-time training centre status in 2001. Successfully led the bid to establish the Unit as one of only three "National Endoscopy Training Centres" in 2003, the only one outside London. A regular faculty member on endoscopy training courses.
