The Royal Liverpool & Broadgreen University Hospitals Trust is totally committed to the development, application and dissemination of new Minimally Invasive Therapies (MIT). The MASTER Unit & Mersey School of Endoscopy is one of the UK’s leading purpose-built training centres for Minimal Access Surgery (MAS), endoscopy and conventional surgical procedures.

The Unit runs a variety of courses in surgery and Endoscopy, local and franchised courses in conjunction with the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Some courses are also endorsed by specialist medical and surgical associations, including the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain & Ireland (ASGBI), Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons of Great Britain & Ireland (ALSGBI), Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain & Ireland (ACPGBI), Joint Advisory Group on Gastroenterology (JAG), British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) and the British Association of Surgical Oncology (BASO).

The Unit comprises a multi-functional training room (MASTER Unit), enabling the layout to be altered to suit the respective courses or meetings and a dedicated 45-seat lecture suite (Mersey School of Endoscopy). With a full range of audio visual equipment, images of live surgery, Endoscopy & radiology can be transmitted in our units or to sites around the world.   more..
